Connecting Your Telegram Account β
Connect your personal Telegram account to a MyChatbot agent. Unlike a Telegram bot, this links your agent to your existing account as a device, so it can read and reply to the conversations that land in your real inbox.

Connect in 4 steps

Overview β
Connecting your personal Telegram account lets your agent act through your existing account rather than a separate bot. This gives a more personal experience: when someone messages you, your agent can read the conversation and respond as your account.
Step-by-step connection β
- Go to the Channels page in the app.
- Select the agent you want to connect.
- Choose the Telegram Account channel to open the Connect your Telegram account form.
Filling in the connection form β
| Field | What to enter |
|---|---|
| Account Name | A unique name for the connection (e.g. MainAccount). Latin letters and numbers only, no spaces. |
| Phone Number | The phone number on your Telegram account, in international format (e.g. +1 212 555 0123). |
| Password | Your Telegram account password. If you have 2FA enabled, use that password; otherwise enter any word. |
Click Continue and wait for the QR code to appear.
Authenticating with the QR code β
- After you click Continue, MyChatbot shows a QR code for authentication.
- On your phone, open the Telegram app β Settings β Devices β Link Desktop Device.
- Scan the QR code shown in MyChatbot.
- The account appears in your Connected Telegram accounts list.
- Toggle the connection on to let the agent start handling messages.
You have 2 minutes
You have about 2 minutes to complete the scan. If you refresh the page during this window, the process resumes automatically. After that, you'll need to start over.
Managing a connected account β
- The connected account card has an on/off toggle β turn it off to pause your agent on that account without disconnecting.
- Use Revoke on the card to disconnect the account entirely.
- If Telegram later stops trusting the linked device, MyChatbot removes the account and asks you to connect it again.
Important notes β
- When someone messages your Telegram account, your agent reads the message and replies automatically (while the toggle is on).
- Because your agent connects as a linked device on your personal account β not through the instant bot channel β replies aren't immediate. Expect a 30β40 second delay before your agent responds. This is normal for account (not bot) connections.
Bot or account?
Want instant replies from a dedicated bot instead of your personal inbox? Use the Telegram bot channel. Use a Telegram Account connection when you want the agent to work inside your real, existing account.
