In the app

Everything below happens on the Channels page: app.mychatbot.app/channels. Open Channels, pick the agent you want to put on TikTok from the agent selector at the top, then open the TikTok tab.

Connect in 3 steps:

  1. Log in to the TikTok account in your browser (so the authorization step lands on the right account).
  2. In MyChatBot, open Channels β†’ your agent β†’ TikTok and enter your handle in TikTok Page Name.
  3. Click Connect TikTok and approve the authorization on TikTok's page.

Access can expire

TikTok may require periodic re-authorization. If messages stop flowing, reconnect the channel: Revoke TikTok, then run Connect TikTok again.

Features

  • Direct message responses β€” automatically reply to private messages on TikTok.
  • Quick comment replies β€” send an automatic public reply to comments.
  • Private follow-up replies β€” start a private-message conversation after a comment.
  • AI-written comment replies β€” let the agent compose each public reply instead of using a fixed line.
  • Voice replies β€” optionally answer with a voice message in a voice you choose.

Prerequisites

  • Admin access to the TikTok account you want to integrate.
  • Being logged in to that TikTok account in the browser you'll authorize from.

Step 1: Prepare your TikTok account

  1. Log in to your TikTok account in a web browser.
  2. Go to https://www.tiktok.com and verify you can see your profile.
  3. Ensure you have access to direct messages and can respond to comments.

Step 2: Connect TikTok in MyChatBot

In the app

Channels β†’ select your agent β†’ TikTok tab. URL: app.mychatbot.app/channels.

  1. Open the Channels page and pick the agent you want to connect from the agent selector at the top.
  2. Open the TikTok tab.
  3. In the TikTok Page Name field, enter your TikTok username/handle (for example my_page_id).
  4. Click Connect TikTok. You're redirected to TikTok's authorization page β€” approve the requested access, and you're returned to the dashboard (the button shows Connecting... while it finishes).

Once connected, the tab shows your page and a Revoke TikTok button you can use to disconnect at any time.

Handle format

Enter only the TikTok Page ID, without a link, and the page name cannot end with a period. The field validates as you type and the Connect TikTok button stays disabled until the handle is valid.

Configure automation settings

After the channel is connected, turn the agent on for TikTok and tune how it handles comments and DMs. All of these controls live on the same TikTok tab.

SettingWhat the agent doesWhen to use it
Enable Follower CheckLets the agent check whether the person messaging or commenting already follows your page, so replies can differ for followers vs non-followers.Gate an offer or discount behind a follow.
Ignore ReactionsSkips reactions people add to messages or videos, so a like or emoji isn't treated as a new message.Cut noise from emoji-only reactions.
Ignore CommentsStops the agent from acting on comments under your videos β€” DM automation still runs. You want DM automation only, not comment replies.
Reply mode (Custom message / AI-generated)Choose whether the public comment reply is one fixed line or written by the agent for each comment.AI-generated for natural replies; Custom for a consistent one-liner.
Quick comment replyThe public one-liner posted under a comment. Leave it empty to skip the public reply and only follow up privately in DM.Acknowledge comments publicly, then move the conversation to DM.
Reply in Direct MessagesWhen a comment is a real request (price, location, availability), the agent also opens a private DM; simple reactions get only a comment reply.Turn buying-intent comments into private sales conversations.
Detect the comment's languageThe agent detects each comment's language and replies in it. When off, it replies in the agent's primary language.Audiences that comment in multiple languages.
Reply Delay (s)Waits a set number of seconds before replying, so responses feel less instant.Make replies feel human and avoid sending too fast.
Voice replyOptionally answer with a voice message using a voice you select.Add a personal, on-brand touch to responses.

In the app

The Reply mode selector also has an optional AI instruction box β€” describe in plain words how the agent should reply to comments (tone, what to say, when to move to DM).

How it works

Message flow

  1. Incoming message β€” someone sends a direct message to your TikTok account.
  2. Processing β€” the message is handed to your MyChatBot agent.
  3. AI response β€” your agent reads the message and generates a response.
  4. Reply sent β€” the response is automatically sent back to the user on TikTok.

Comment handling

  1. Comment detection β€” someone comments on your TikTok posts.
  2. Quick reply β€” if a public reply is configured, it's posted under the comment.
  3. Private follow-up β€” for buying-intent comments, the agent can also open a private DM (when Reply in Direct Messages is on).

Best practices

  • Response timing β€” keep response times reasonable to maintain engagement; a small Reply Delay makes replies feel more natural.
  • Content guidelines β€” follow TikTok's community guidelines in all responses.
  • Privacy β€” be mindful of privacy when handling user information.
  • Engagement β€” use TikTok's casual, creative communication style.
  • Authenticity β€” maintain your brand voice while being conversational.

Troubleshooting

Messages not receiving

  • Check that the channel is turned on for the agent (Channels β†’ your agent β†’ TikTok).
  • Verify the authorization is still valid β€” if in doubt, Revoke TikTok and reconnect.
  • Ensure the TikTok account has message permissions enabled.

Responses not sending

  • Check the connection status on the TikTok tab β€” if it shows disconnected, reconnect.
  • Check that the TikTok account has sending permissions.
  • If you're replying at high volume, TikTok may throttle you; add a small Reply Delay so replies aren't sent too fast.

Authentication errors

  • Reconnect the channel: Revoke TikTok, then Connect TikTok and approve the authorization again.
  • Make sure you approve the authorization with the same TikTok account as the TikTok Page Name you entered.
  • Check for TikTok account restrictions.

Re-authorization

If access expires:

  1. Log back into TikTok in your browser.
  2. On the TikTok tab, click Revoke TikTok, enter the TikTok Page Name, and click Connect TikTok again.
  3. Approve the authorization on TikTok.
  4. Test the connection by sending yourself a message or comment.

Limitations

  • Subject to TikTok's rate limiting.
  • May require periodic re-authorization when access expires.
  • Limited to text-based responses (images/videos require additional setup).
  • Must comply with TikTok's terms of service and community guidelines.

TIP

This integration uses TikTok's messaging capabilities and is subject to TikTok's terms of service and community guidelines. Ensure compliance with all applicable policies when using automated responses.
