Connecting Your Facebook Messenger

This guide explains how to connect Facebook Messenger to your MyChatbot agent.

Step-by-Step Connection Process

  1. Navigate to the Channels tab in your MyChatbot dashboard
  2. Select the agent you want to connect to Facebook Messenger
  3. Click on the Messenger tab
  4. Click on the Connect Messenger button

Authentication Process

When you click the Connect Messenger button, you'll be redirected to the Facebook authorization flow where you need to:

  1. Select your business
  2. Select your Facebook page
  3. Authorize the necessary permissions

After completing these steps, you'll be redirected back to the MyChatbot dashboard where your connected Facebook page will be displayed.

Configuration Options

Once connected, you can configure several important settings:

Ignore Reactions

Toggle this option to determine whether your agent should respond to:

  • Reactions to messages in Messenger
  • Likes and other reactions to your Facebook posts

Enabling this will prevent your agent from responding to these types of interactions.

Quick Comment Reply

This feature enables the "private reply" functionality:

  • When someone leaves a comment under your Facebook post, your agent can automatically reply
  • If you leave this field blank, the agent won't reply to comments
  • If you configure a message, the agent will reply to the comment and attempt to reach the person via direct messages
  • This helps move public conversations to private channels for better customer service

Voice Messages

If users send voice messages through Messenger, you can configure:

  • Which voice will be used to reply
  • Whether voice replies are enabled

Reply Delay

Set the delay in seconds between when a message is received and when your agent responds.
