Business Domain Documents

Business Domain Documents allow you to connect operational information and business knowledge to your MyChatBot agent. This knowledge forms the foundation for answering questions about how your business operates.

Overview

Business Domain Documents include various types of operational content that your staff would typically know:

  • Company policies and procedures
  • Objection handling guides
  • FAQ documents
  • Terms of service
  • Delivery and return policies

Business Knowledge Integrations

Add URLs to specific web pages that you want to use for searching business data. This integration:

  • Provides a search_website tool for using search engine over specified page
  • Provides a get_page_detailed_data tool to retrieve information on specific page

Business Files

Upload files directly to your knowledge base:

  • File limit: Up to 15 files maximum
  • Size limit: 7 megabytes each
  • Supported formats: DOC, DOCX, PDF, HTML, JSON
  • Note: Once uploaded, you have limited control - it's a one-time upload

The most flexible option that allows you to connect multiple Google Docs:

Important Requirements:

  • Must be Google Docs format: Only native Google Docs are supported
  • Not supported: Microsoft Word files (DOCX) stored in Google Drive
  • Conversion: Microsoft Word files must be converted to Google Docs format first
  • Multi-select: You can select multiple Google Docs at once

Configuration Steps:

  1. Select your Google Docs files (use multi-select for multiple files)
  2. Click Select to confirm your choices
  3. Specify document language
  4. Click Save to process the documents

Managing Your Business Documents

After setup, you'll see several management options:

  • Refresh: Updates the knowledge base if you've made changes to the source documents
  • Revoke: Completely removes the document connection from your knowledge base

How It Works

Once your business documents are processed:

  1. Automatic Context: When customers ask business-specific domain questions, the agent automatically receives relevant context from your documents
  2. No Additional Setup: After processing completes, no further action is required
  3. Intelligent Retrieval: The system uses retrieval methods to find and provide relevant information before the agent responds

Best Practices

  1. Use Google Docs Format: Ensure all documents are in native Google Docs format for best compatibility
  2. Organize Content: Structure your Google Docs into small paragraphs to avoid force chunking for big paragraphs.
  3. Regular Updates: Use the refresh function when you update your source documents
  4. Language Selection: Choose the correct language for optimal search and retrieval performance
  5. Document Quality: Well-formatted documents with clear information provide better context for your agent
