This guide covers the essential agent settings that control how your MyChatBot agent operates, from basic on/off controls to advanced message formatting options.

Agent On/Off Control

Three Types of Agent Toggles

Your MyChatBot system has three levels of on/off controls that work together:

  1. Individual Chat Toggle: Each chat has an "AI" toggle that can turn the agent on or off for that specific conversation
  2. Channel Toggles: Each channel (Telegram, WhatsApp, etc.) has its own toggle to enable or disable the agent for that entire channel
  3. Global Agent Toggle: The main agent toggle that controls the agent across all channels and chats

Manual vs. Schedule Control

Manual Control: To manually control your agent on/off status:

  1. Navigate to agent settings
  2. Remove all work hours by turning off each day of the week
  3. Clear the "time from" and "time to" fields for all days
  4. Apply changes to all days
  5. Now you can manually toggle the agent on or off using the main toggle

Schedule Control: To use automatic scheduling:

  1. Set work hours for each day (e.g., 7 AM to 6 PM)
  2. Select your timezone
  3. Apply schedule to all days or configure individually
  4. The agent will automatically turn on/off based on the schedule
  5. Manual toggle becomes inactive when schedule is configured

Automatic Agent Shutoff Conditions

Your agent will automatically turn off in these situations:

  1. Low Balance: When your message balance drops below -200 messages, you'll receive notifications and the agent will turn off
  2. Plan Limitations: If you're on a Pro Plan (allows 1 agent) but have multiple agents configured, only the most recently activated agent will work - others will turn off automatically

Flight Control (Telegram Notifications)

Flight Control allows you to receive important system notifications via Telegram.

Setup Process for Direct Messages:

  1. Enter your Telegram username (e.g., @yourusername)
  2. Copy the provided command (format: /my_id @mcbassistant_bot) and press "Save" in the dialog window
  3. Open telegram and start a chat with @mcbassistant_bot on Telegram
  4. Send the command /my_id @mcbassistant_bot
  5. You'll receive confirmation from agent in the chat
  6. After dashboard page refresh your Telegram ID will appear in the "Flight Control" dialog window

Setup Process for Telegram Group:

  1. Add @mcbassistant_bot to the group
  2. Replace your username with the group name in the "Flight Control" dialog input, press "Save".
  3. Send the command /my_id @mcbassistant_bot in the group chat
  4. You'll receive confirmation from agent in the group chat

Hand-off Control

Hand-off Control allows external systems or users to transfer control between AI and human operators.

Configuration:

  1. Set a specific stop-word phrase (e.g., "just a minute", "one second", "❤️️️️️️️" etc.)
  2. When this exact phrase is received in the chat with a client, it triggers the hand-off
  3. Agent toggles state: if on, it turns off; if off, it turns on

Silent Hand-off:

  • Enable "Silent hand-off" to prevent notifying users about the control transfer
  • Useful for seamless transitions between AI and human operators

Reply Format Settings

Reply Format controls how messages appear across different communication channels.

Format Options:

Convert Image Links to Images:

  • When enabled, removes image links from text
  • Images are sent as actual images instead of URLs
  • Provides better visual experience across channels

Reply by Paragraphs:

  • Splits long messages into separate paragraphs
  • Each paragraph sent with some delay between them
  • Creates more natural conversation flow

Allow Schedule Messages:

  • Enables the agent to schedule follow-up messages in a specific chat
  • Useful for appointment reminders or follow-up communications
  • Scheduled messages appear in the Follow-up tab as an "instance"
  • Each scheduled message applies to one specific chat only

Hide Calculus Equations:

  • Useful for construction, engineering, or calculation-heavy businesses
  • Hides complex mathematical calculations from customers
  • Shows only final results (totals, prices, amounts)
  • Keeps conversations clean while maintaining accuracy
