Set up MyChatBot inside the Claude app

You do not need the dashboard or a terminal to get a sales assistant running. Add MyChatBot as a connector in the Claude app, then tell Claude what you sell. Claude inspects your account, proposes the assistant, builds it after you approve, and lets you test it in a private chat before any customer sees it.

This is the non-technical path. Developers who prefer Claude Code or Codex use the MyChatBot plugin instead; both talk to the same account.

Steps

1. Add the connector

In the Claude app open Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector. Name it MyChatBot, paste the URL above, and confirm. Custom connectors are available on paid Claude plans; if the option is missing, that is why.

2. Sign in with a one-time code

Claude opens a MyChatBot sign-in window. Enter your email and the code you receive. If an account already exists for that address, it is reconnected; otherwise a new account is created with a free trial. Nothing is changed in the account by signing in.

3. Tell Claude what you sell

Start a new chat and describe the business, or use one of the starter prompts the connector offers (set up a sales agent, connect a channel, check my agent). Give Claude your website address or upload a price list. It reads what it can, then proposes the assistant: name, greeting, tone, instructions and starter knowledge.

4. Approve, and let it build

Review the proposal in the chat and approve it. Only then does Claude create the assistant, load the knowledge and turn on a website widget. Every change of that kind waits for your approval first.

5. Test, then connect a channel

Ask Claude to run a test conversation. It talks to the assistant in a private test chat that no customer sees and shows you the answers, so you can correct the instructions before going live. When it answers the way you want, connect a channel:

  • Telegram bot and the website widget can be connected from the chat.
  • Instagram, Facebook Messenger and WhatsApp sign in through Meta, which needs the dashboard. Claude gives you a link that opens the dashboard already signed in.

What Claude can do from the chat

  • Create and update the assistant's instructions, tone and working hours.
  • Add knowledge: website pages, FAQs, documents, product feeds and spreadsheets.
  • Run private test chats and repeat them after every change.
  • Connect token-based channels and check which channels are on.
  • Read leads, conversations and orders, and prepare follow-ups for your approval.
  • Open the right dashboard page for anything that needs a click there.

What still happens in the dashboard

  • Channels that sign in through Meta or Google (Instagram, Messenger, WhatsApp, Gmail).
  • Taking over a live customer chat as a person, and the shared team inbox.
  • Billing and plan changes.

Accounts created through the connector have no password. Every dashboard link Claude gives you opens the sign-in page in email code mode; use the same address and the code you receive.

If something does not work

  • The connector does not appear in Claude. Custom connectors need a paid Claude plan, and the URL must be exactly https://connector.mychatbot.app/mcp.
  • Sign-in loops or the code never arrives. Check the spam folder, then remove the connector and add it again to restart the sign-in.
  • Claude says it cannot change something. Setup changes wait for your explicit approval in the chat; say "approve" or "go ahead" on the proposal card.
  • The assistant answers from the wrong facts. Add or fix the knowledge from the chat and run the test conversation again.
